"It was a nice surprise."

Thursday, Feb. 13, 1992
I forget what time Ez. went to bed last night. She woke me up at 1:33. I went & put the pacifier in her mouth & scooted her up. She was sideways at the foot of the bed. A few minutes later she was crying again. She had her pacifier in her hand and wouldn't let me put it in her mouth. I put the other one in her mouth; she took it out with her other hand & wouldn't let go of either one. So I got the NUK one out of her diaper bad & laid it down in front of her (she was propped up on her elbows). She dropped one of the MAMs and picked up the NUK and let me put the MAM in her mouth. She went back to sleep soon enough but I just couldn't get back to sleep. I woke up night before last coughing & was awake for about 1&1/2 hours. Last night I finally got a magazine out to read and didn't fall asleep til Guy got in the shower at 5:00.
The first time I heard Ez. this morning it was 8:44! I couldn't believe it. When I went in there she looked like she was settling in to sleep so I went on downstairs & ate my breakfast. It was about 9:15 when she really woke up. She had a loose poopy diaper but it didn't look like it had been there long. I wondered whether she woke up at 7:00 & I didn't hear her & she just cried herself back to sleep. I hope not. It was a gloomy day so she may really have slept that long. I kept her up the rest of the morning and she went down for her nap a little after one, probably close to 1:30. I went to sleep after my story, heard her at 2:30. She wasn't awake but I was then. She slept til nearly 3:00. Guy got home at 3:17. (The dept. head let them go early.) While he watched Ez. I put the new name patch & 4-stripe patch on one of his cracker-jacks so he can have it for duty if he has a watch Sun. I'll have to fix his other uniforms eventually – taking off the SIMA patches & putting on the Opportune ones.
I went to Farm Fresh to get him a Valentine card. It was crowded around the cards. The florist was probably worse though. I wanted to get one for Ez. too and one for her to give Guy, but I barely had enough money for his.
I got a letter from my cousin Philip Pulley (in Searcy) today. It was a nice surprise. He told me a long time ago he had a lot of information on the Pulley family tree and I asked him to send me copies sometime. In his letter he said he's working on getting all the info in the computer. He also asked for info on Guy & Elizabeth and said he could print out her ancestral line. Wish we'd gone over to the Mormon place like we always talked about to see what we could find out.
